My name is Stuart Cornell and I’m a landscape photographer based in Cornwall, UK

I was born in Bristol and grew up in the Chew Valley area of North East Somerset. Later, I moved back to Bristol where I lived for 15 years before relocating to Cornwall.

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with cameras and taking photographs. My first ‘grown-up’ SLR camera was a Pentax P30n which accompanied me on all my travels before it was stolen during a backpacking trip in South America. My replacement became a Canon, and I have been shooting with this brand ever since.

Although I’ve always had a keen interest in photography, my passion was only truly ignited when I moved to Cornwall. With a dramatic coastline, rich heritage and some of the darkest skies in the UK, Cornwall became the inspiration and driving force for my rediscovered enthusiasm behind the lens.

My photography is centred around the rugged Cornish coastline, mostly in the shape of seascapes and nightscapes, with the occasional drone offering when conditions allow. My work has been featured in several national newspapers and, in January 2020, I was honoured to have one of my images featured on the front page of The Times.

I have also written articles on the subject of astrophotography and drone photography for space.com
